FCC Testing Laboratories are categorised into two:
- FCC-recognized testing laboratories
- FCC testing laboratories which are not recognized by FCC
FCC-recognized testing laboratories are accredited laboratories and they are recognized by FCC. FCC list them on their web page. If your product is ready for compliance or certification testing for FCC, you can choose FCC-recognized testing labs. Since their costs may be high, this can make testing costs high.
If your product is still under development, you might choose a lab from second category. The second category labs are either full-compliance labs or pre-compliance labs. However, they are not recognized by FCC. Since they are not recognized, the cost of FCC testing might be lower when compared with the first category labs.
